Description

1. This are the raw materials of my first bracer
2. On this step I used a patter of paper for the shape I cut it a bit bigger cause it´s easier to cut it smaller
3. The ornamentation was a freehand cut with a big scissor
4. For the leaves I used a pattern of paper it was the first try of the design but I thought it was to overload and the dark colors was to extrem
5. Then I sewed the ornaments on the main part and tried a different design for the leaves and found the final design, the sewing was a so called “Schusterstich” (I think).
6. I used a metal stamp to stamp the veins of the leaves on it to do so I had to make it wet
7. This I stamped all leaves and sewed it on the main part
8. I fixed the “ösen” and tried first time the wearing
9. -12. Many photos of the look
13. I applied bee-wax on the surface to make it more stabile
14. after putting it in the oven by 160 degrees Celsius it looked so i´m a bit sad that it´s so dark brown and I can´t see much difference between the part :(
The rest are pictures of the final bracer I will use it for my half elf LARP character: durfraenky.deviantart.com/gall…
on the big leaf on top of the main part i stamped my mark a G on a F you maybe see it a bit

now it´s very hard and not so comfortable to wear, but it´s more water resistant

What kind of wax are you using? The one I have is so hard it is not possible to spread it over a surface. Do you heat or dissolve it into something to spread it out?
